Interests: Well I live in beautiful British Columbia Canada.(It isn't called beautiful for nothing) About three hours from the nearest Wall Mart, beyond Hope, and past Hells Gate, at a little heaven on earth, called Fountainview Academe. I think mission trips are the best! I also love, Bible study, history, horse riding, hiking, camping, scuba diving, swimming, water& snow skiing, working in our garden, cooking, sewing, reading, and writing, playing the harp and violin, singing, and just being with friend and family. And since I don't go to school here, but am home schooled, I have been able to have the privilege of going ontwo wonderful mission trips with YD to the Philippines. For me it really awakened a love for the people in foreign lands, I guess it just comes naturally since I was born in China,(to prove with God's help that there are, some good quality things made there) heehee, And I also lived in Japan until I was ten. And Lord willing I want to go back to Asia as a missionary.

Home again...Gone again!!

Wow, have you ever sat back and thought, "Man does time every fly by!"  Well that is kind of what I am thinking right now!
It only seems like yesterday that I was at Black Hills Health and Education Center, and yet so much has happened since then that I seems like a long time since I was there!
Ever Since I left, my days have been just filled with harp practice and at least a little bit of school work.  It has really helped me learn the songs well, but things like cleaning my room, are not getting done the way they need to, and the way I want them to!!     Oh well I every time I have to step around a box of clothes or something in my room, I tell my self  "This too Shall pass away!" I will have time to really clean in about three weeks!"  Oh well I can live with it for now, it's not a pigpen, just not orderly.
Anyway, enough about my room and on to what is really happening!    I was asked to write some articles for a new magazine, called Radiant Indian Health. And the part I am helping with is the Teen Concerns section.   I really enjoying it so much!   It was just what I needed, God is so good, so many times I just site there at the computer and think, "Ok know I am supposed to write about Social Acceptance, but what do I say"  God finally showed me it's not what your supposed to say, it is what needs to be said, what the kids need to hear!  He is so encouraging!  And I finally have it done and called it "Sick to your Guns."  something some one at BHHEC told me, man how true! Thanx Ken!

The rest of my day is usually spent practicing orchestra music on the har; now I have to work extra hard, but not Too hard to get my calluses back for playing the harp in Panama.    I tell you it will be a real miracle if I don't have to stop playing because of blisters on my fingers!
Butt I am not to worried, I am doing all I can to get them tuff now, and I know that just as God arainged for me to go on this trip He will also take care of my fingers while there.

By the way, I now have all the rest of my money for the trip!
God is so good, and when He want’s things  to happen they can really happen fast!  Only about a week after my grandpa said he would pay one thousand of the three thousand due, he and my dad went to get their teeth cleaned by our dentist friend Dr. Erickson.    During his lunch  break Dr. Erickson looked at the fundraising letter that my Dad had give him, and then came in to see him while he was getting hi teeth cleaned.
He said  "This sounds really good! How much has Ellen raised so fare? Dad told him  "One thousand dollars."  Then he says, "Well,  I'll be happy to cover the rest, there will be a check waitting for when you leave."
My dad's so funny, he says "when I heard that my mouth was already opened so they could work in it, but it must have opened up another half a inch I was so surprised!!"
I was still at BHHEC in SD at the time, and I was kind of dragging my feet about leaving because I was having such a wonderful experience. But when I heard that, I knew I should go, God had not only give me the opportunity, but had thrown the doors open wide, saying "Come my daughter, I have something more for you!"
I am so excited I am going to help the good news of Christ, while playing the harp in another country!!
I will be sure and show and tell about it when I get back!

Now here is a little slide show of Black Hills Health and Edurcation Center.  This is why I didn't want to leave.

So bye for now, May the Almighty hold His hand over each one of you!
We can be a blessing were ever we are!!

Enjoying Black Hill Health & Education Center

And it's about time for me to update, this last month has flown by so fast!

To give brief summery of what I have done I'll start with work; last program I helped with to fever baths, and in the office.    On the weekends I went hiking in the hills with friends, or camping.
And  we had camp meeting which was a tremendous blessing!
JD and Shelley Quinn came from 3ABN and spoke.    I learned so many thing I wish I could share then here, but I don't have time. The main theme was on how important it is to spend a good amount of time with God, I mean it really depends on how well, or quickly you want to really get to know Him that determines how much time you make to pray/talk with Him and study the Bible.

I love the way she explained the process of surrender: "To Grow we must surrender," and it's not a "Bad" thing, It's a partnership were we ask Him to make us willing, to be made willing. To give up our own ideas, wishes and plans, because we have faith that He only wants to help us in our Christian walk, and give us something better then what we have.

She said there are three main steps;

1. Like Jesus in Gethsemane : We must ask God to make us willing to surrender.

Luke 22:42

2.  Just as He gave up His life for others: so must we fallow His example in dieing to self and letting God be  glorified in us.

Luke 9:23

3. Then and only then can we rise with Him in newness of life, and be filled with the Holy Spirit when we ask: Just as Jesus rose from death into glorious life.

Rom. 8:34

As I said I have really been bless to be here!  Today I started doing some new treatments, it was sooo much fun!   I did at jacuzzi and contrast shower, which the guest really enjoyed, I really liked being able to get to know them better as we talked. Oh and how could I forget, I had a good work out in the futness room, that was about two hours ago and I still feel weak from it!  Man every plave should have this! I am glad FV does couse I want to still do it when I go home.

Soon I hope to post pics  to show you all, I would put them up here right now, but I really need to call my mom soon.
This fall is going to be very very busy for me as soon as I leave here which will be about the first or second week in October.    I am sooo happy I still have about a month here!!!
It really is getting could here it frosted last night.    thankfully during the day it realy is still nice.    Mother has sent me a box of some of my worm clothes, it should get here soon.

Anyway I didn't finish explaining why I am going to be so busy after leaving here, it is true I Really have to buckle down and finish school so I can get my GED, and I thought that I was going to do just that until,  God let me know He has other plans in mind.

I am so excited FV strings and choir was asked to recording in the Hope Channel studies in Washington, DC, (Nov. 2&3)
And they arragend for me to fly down with them!!!    (any one going to be in DC then, I would love to see some friends!)

Also while there we will  attend the annual Hope Channel Summit and perform along side other musical artists of out church, your will be able to see me and the others playing if you tune into the Hope Channel on Nov. 4 & 5!

Then and this is the most exiting, as long as I am able to get to thousand dollars I will also be flying out of DC on the 6th, to assist Mark Finely on his circuit of ninety-eight evangelistic affords simultaneously in progress over in Panama!!   We will be there Nov. 6-19.

GOd really seams to be leading in this, my wonderful grandparents have already given me one thousand  dollars, I am so happy I can't believe how good God is, and the most extraordinarily exciting thing about it is, that I am not going to play the violin with everyone else but the harp!! We just have to find one to rent in DC, and them Panama. I know if God has done this much then I have no doubt that he can and will help us find the best one that we need.
OK I had better go now, I was just told by Dr. Foster, (the people I am staying with) that the box of worm clothes just arrived so I had better go and get it, I could use some of them tomorrow.
May God bless each and every one of you !!!!    And just remember He has the most exciting and wonderful plan for your life, we only have to give it to Him and let Him lead!!!!
God bless!
Ellen

My summer

Hello Every one!!!!
It seams like it has really been a long time since I last posted, I have been doing so much!
Four days after I came home from YD camp(Sunday), I left with the Fountainview Strings and Choir on our bus for a two and a half day drive through four states, down to Taxes!
ASI had arranged for us to come down and play for them.
It was wonderful, well…not so much the driving part, though that really wasn’t all that bad, but playing there was a wonderful experience!!
Just being there for my first time and seeing old friends was something I’ll never forget! ;D
After practicing basically all day Wed. and played for the Kindergarten Thursday evening, and also Friday afternoon for the Juniors and primaries.
Then Sabbath morning for Sabbath school song service and at the end of church service. Later that afternoon we also shared our whole concert with the youth and early teens. It was such a blessing, I loved every minute of it, accept that is was really getting painful to play the harp, because of some blisters on the tips of my fingers from playing so much.  Thankfully I was able to bare it until our last concert was over!   Praise the Lord!
To be able to share music is such a wonderful blessing! It really does move peoples hearts like nothing else can.
I just can’t thank God enough for the wonderful blessings He has given me!  It reminds me of a quote I  memorized once “He is watching over you, and if you are willing do be guided by Him, He will throw around you influences for good that will enable you to accomplish all His will for you.” MP p 17
What a promise! And I have been blessed to see as I continually choose to surrender my will to God
How “Faithful is He that calleth (me), who will also do it.”
I was so blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with some of my best friends from OHA. We had so much fun together in our free time, staying up late or rather early, looking at Daniel Reynolds pictures of El Salvador, and going an a highly adventurous exploration of the Gaylord Texan,(something I don’t think any of us will forget.)

Last Sunday I left to come here to BHHEC (Black Hills Health and Education Center)
We had a very peaceful and uneventful day and a half ride accept for on Sunday afternoon we were eating at Subway, when I heard something hit the flour hard. I looked over as did everyone else and saw a young lady lying on her back unconscious!
Instantly I jumped up and ran over to see if I could help since I have taken First Aid and CPR.  I tell I have never seen anything like it before; she looked so dead!
Her skin was a ashen color,  and under her eyes and her hands were turning blue. I couldn’t believe it because it had only been seconds since she fell!
Anyway another lady was who was checking her breathing and circulation, said she isn’t breathing, sure enough when I also checked she wasn’t breathing! The cashier was calling 911 , and I was thinking ok if she doesn’t start breathing right away I am going to have to do CPR. Just then thank God,  she gasped, and started breathing with difficulty, and then trembled like she might be having a seizure. It was kind of scarry, I didn’t know what was going on with her, I had never heard of something like this before.    The store manager came out and checked her over, and just about then she regained consciousness.
Soon she was able to get up and site in a chair until the paramedics came.    When they came they asked her a lot of questions like if this had ever happened to her before, and she said nothing like that had ever happened, but that she had not been feeling very good the last month or so, she was only 22.  The paramedics went a head and took to get checked out by the doctor. I pray she doesn’t have something seriously wrong with her.
This experience has really made me value what I know about First Aid and CPR, and helped me to see, you really never know when you may need to use what you know to save someone’s life!
I think every one should at least know a little about of how to do it!

Well now that I am  here at BHHEC, I am thoroughly enjoying it!!
I have been leaning so much about health, and seeing how it really has and is helping people have a better life!

Yesterday was so wonderful!
There is a guy and a girl here the same age as myself, and two guys in their early twenties who all went hiking in the hills after church about on hour form here, along with another girl and to genteel men form the church.  We climbed through on old mining shaft, which was really cool. It really a hole strait through on of the hills.
And the just had a great time walking around on the logging roads and trails picking wild raspberries and enjoying nature!
And today is nice and relaxed, I haven't neede to do anything accept  go to a lecture which was on the frontal lobe and how important it really is, it wasamazing!
And then this afternoon they are taking the guests out to Mt. Rushmore, they are happy for me to go along, so I am really looking forward to being able to seeing it up close for the first time!!

Well I wish I could post some pictures but I can’t right now, maybe I will be able to some other time.
And now I need to go and see if I can’t make some phone calls before lunch, so that will be all for now, sorry it was so long!   I could have told about the music program last Friday night, but that would make too long! I’ll just say it went well, and was a blessing!
Keep looking up, we have to know where we are going in life!!
Always your friend,
Ellen
